I always think that programmers that hide what they code because someone is gonna steal it! People are evil!* aren’t totally up to date. But I was hiding this too… I was hiding it for long time and I felt stupid every time when I thought, “uh I mustn’t write the name! I must write ’something I am making’ or ‘project xxx’ or ..”.

I was hiding that I am making “Ask Robi”, yes ASK ROBI. I couldn’t dare to say ASK ROBI because I was amazed that for once the primary domain I want is not yet taken and askrobi.com wasn’t. So yesterday when I made the askrobi do a fullround client server trip, I bought the domain and now I can nag you about it! This is the first ugly screenshot of the client

Client is made with Adobe AIR and server and brains with Factor. They communicate via STRPC. I will post more about it soon.

Not that I don’t think that no-one can steal ideas. Just look at casual games market. The thing is that most people think their ideas are cool and ideas of others well aren’t so why steal them. There are also exceptions but if someone is so stupid that it has to steal ideas I feel sorry for him anyway.

I was checking out if there is anything urgent to fix on otroski.net today. I visited few random sites and it lead me to this nice and very up-to-date web-magazine called TFM. I was surprised that it was coming out for every month since Dec 2007 and I had no idea that it even exists. Well this is not so odd as my time spent on o.n. is very very limited and only focused on fixing very urgent things.

O.n. already had/has a magazine made in the whole and initiated by “kids” themselves called F.R.O.N. and I mentioned it here already.

I am lucky that “kids”/users make up for my lack of resources and vision with o.n. . I hope one day I will be at least what it once was. This can happen only in two ways though. Either I find some monetisation for it (that won’t suck) so it can support itself or other projects bring me so much money/time that I can devote to it more seriously again.

QUBIDRAW (the early release) is online for a while now. I have very little time to push the development forward but nice things happen on it anyway. Here are few of the pictures that kids have drawn:

QUBIDRAW is a online concept of my KUBI game. I plan to make many more activities and polish the thing up few times. Flash part is being made in Haxe, webpart in PHP. They communicate via my tiny RPC spec STRPC - SoTinyRPC.

I promised Zala - the “boss” of F.R.O.N kids magazine - that I will prepare them separate ftp and mysql account on otroski.net . Well but setting 2 separate users on 1 domain is a mess so I decide that I will “sponsor” them a domain name… So here it is www.fron-revija.org . The magazine is in Slovene language, the special thing is that it’s totally managed by 10-13 year old people (mostly girls) … they know all about databases, phpmyadmins, wordpreses, javascript, xhtml, doc-types, and they can write in a cool way - unlike me

Without long-talking about the history and stuff let me just say. F.R.O.N. the i-magazine that was created by “kids”, is directed, edited, written, technically managed.. whatever.. 100% by “kids” has after 1.5 year of pause made another release.

Did I mention that I think “kids” is one of stupidest labels out there?
