After 1 week of const work I took some time and worked all night
January 16th, 2007Did my brain just fuzz off? No – it is just shortened title so it lacks some cruicial information. After 1 week of really constant contract work on some Java CAD application I said: “ENOUGHT!! It is sunday and it is middle of the night so I can do whatever I want to!“. So I stopped doing that Java CAD and instead of doing Alien Zze game (that I just have to finish) or Bushes (that I really just have to finish) or tinyIMS (that I have to polish some more) or any other thing that would be vise to make… I worked until 6 in the morning and made this…
Warning… althougth I like what I achieved in one night it’s still a little crappy piece which is only 5% of a full game (that I WILL eventually make). Go now and crush some bugs!
UPDATE (thursday morning): I took another night off and I have an updated version… you have four weapons now, movement is much better, effects are better, bugs have health resistance and weapons have different strengths too… Go here and try it… weapons are on 1, 2, 3, 4
Next thing I will try to do is make the bugs more intelegent and responsive.

Any update on your replacement to Kubi 2 ?

Hi Kent, uh kubi 2 making has quite a history (at least to me)… I will make a short blog-post about what was happening and what is/will be happening about it.
In short …core of ex. Kubi Draw is made and works in flash… now is a time to do user interface for it and then I can put it online.. It is a little different that it was in Kubi 1…
Your post made me think about it and I will try to find some time over this weekend and next week to make it to the level where I can put a work in progress wersion online.
Thanks for asking, nice that you have found my blog… I hope your kids won’t grow up before I make the next version of Kubi :/

It’s time to finish Kubi – finish it before you start other projects. Finishing old projects before starting new ones is the hardest part.
Side note: Man, you’ve got a kid and a wife – do they let you take nights off?
I would be dead in shoes if I took night off (because of lack of sleep)

the plan currently is that after alien Zze is done I immediately continue on Kubi. This DEBUGR is just something so I can vent-out after being busy with contract work all days. But I admit .. I am bad at finishing projects a little…
