BKG Report, some stats right in your vein…

January 7th, 2006

Ok, I have to do something to keep you on this website, so I will post some stats. People (at least judging by myself) are allways hungry for some raw numbers, so they can compare.

Brave Kid Games is website where i try to collect, show off and sell indie games for kids. It is online for 7 months now. It is not very actively worked on, because I have so much other projects and websites besides that, but it hasn’t been left alone either, and is constantly growing or improving. So numbers…
- google PR 4 (PR predictor showed that we will have PR5 on next update)
- 24 games, 3 screensavers, 3 online activities, 1 set of printables

- visits are growing like this :

Now in 2006 we (me and my wife) will work on BKG site much more actively – we will see the results.

Small hint: Throw a news item to gamedev.net & devmaster.net to boost those stats. I’m curious – how did you use AdSense to generate money (are those two ads the only ones you have?)

Btw – You forgot to put the URL here… http://www.bravekidgames.com/ ;)

Thanks for your hint! I later read about it on your blog also. I also came up with the news that would hopefully be worth posting (in about two weeks).

Which two ads do you mean? First I had only that linkunit in left yellow row of all pages and few normal linkboxes on less popular pages (history, support). Now I have AdSense on 3 activities, on online Winter B & C…. and even at the bottom of first page. I tried not to and think I still didn’t owerload website with adds though. After releasing WB&C adSense revenue increased by 3x to 4x, but it’s still very small bucks.

I will add the link. Thank you for the first comment here ;) .

I’m not sure which ads I meant, but I checked http://www.bravekidgames.com/ again, and I presume I meant these: :)
    - the “ads by google” thingy on the bottom of the page
    - “get firefox with toolbar” on the left

I just put “Firefox with toolbar” on a few days back. You missed “linkunit” 1 picture above “firefox with toolbar”. Now I don’t know if it’s actually good thing that adds don’t pop up and get looked over or a bad thing. I will experiment with the more distinctive colors for a week and tell you what are the results.
